Yoga with Mel
Yoga was introduced to Mell at the age of 18, a vulnerable time in her life where insecurities ruled her world. Without fully understanding that this was in fact the beginning of a beautiful love affair and journey into enquiring about the ‘Self’.
Mell lived a very nomadic lifestyle before settling down in the Noosa shire, travelling, living remote and studying, however in all the worlds madness and beauty it was the practice of yoga that remained a constant and brought her back to herself, allowing her to remain compassionate, humble and creating more space for reflection and understanding.
Each year she enjoys deepening her practice and knowledge attending workshops and trainings with the privilege of studying under many renowned teachers such as Clive Sheridan and John Ogilvie. As student of Clive Sheridan since 2017 Mell’s practice has changed, with a greater emphasis on pranayama, philosophy and meditation.
Mell’s lifestyle and travels were a catalyst for knowledge and deepening her practice in many ways and after some time in India in 2010 she decided she wanted to share her love of yoga with others. She moved to Byron Bay to study an Intensive certificate IV in teacher training (500 RYT) at The Byron Yoga Centre in 2011. Over the Years Mell has taught in many studios, on retreats, rehabilitation centres and private/group classes.
Mell teaches a variety of styles with a great focus on traditional Hatha and rhythmic vinyasa led by the breath, gentle weaving in philosophy, meditation and pranayama, making it a great practice to suite all ages and abilities.
Mell has a deep respect for mother nature and the age-old healing art of natural medicine, she completed her degree in naturopathy in 2015 and continues to practice today. She believes both these forms of healing deeply complement each other and what she can share through her practice.
Mell’s love for yoga continues to renew itself year after year, experience after experience and the effects of yoga in her life are the guiding energy behind sharing it with others helping them find their centre.
If you would like to book a private yoga class for yourself or group, please contact Mel directly.
